What changed when we worked together?
Examples of how I’ve helped organisations find clarity, strengthen their culture and move important work forward
Bringing the customer and employee experience together
The challenge
Grosvenor Casinos wanted to differentiate its brand through a more consistent, customer-focused culture, bringing together the promises made to customers and the experience created by its people.
What we did
Through facilitated workshops and working groups, we clarified the vision, mission, objectives and strategies. We then worked with employees to develop and validate a set of service values and behaviours that could bring the strategy to life.
“Andy has helped us bring together our brand and our employer brand, and that’s driving real results. His energetic approach cuts through from entry-level roles to Exec.”
Ian Marchant, Group People Director, Rank Group
Connecting strategy, values and everyday behaviour
The challenge
HR:4UK was growing rapidly, but there wasn’t a clear connection between its business strategy, values and the behaviours needed from its people.
What we did
We worked through the organisation’s purpose, vision, objectives and strategy before developing values and team behaviours that supported where the business was heading.
Angela Clay, Managing Director, HR:4UK
"Andy has really helped our business get clear on the link between the business strategy, our values and what that means for our people, so they can be their best every day. Andy’s approach is distinctive and filled with fun and laughter. The results have been transformative!"
Protecting culture through organisational change
The challenge
Following a buyout, an independent manufacturing business was becoming part of a larger group. It needed to manage that transition without losing what mattered about its culture or disrupting the work.
What we did
I worked with the management team to explore the effect leadership has on culture, strengthen coaching and mentoring behaviours, and encourage more continuous employee listening.
“The people in our business are the beating heart of it. Andy helped us make more of our culture. He equipped our managers to engage their teams more effectively and helped them become more productive. All with a smile on his face.”
Duncan Geddes, Business Manager, Vita Group
Helping senior leaders find clarity and a way forward
The challenge
NAHL wanted to support the personal development of its senior leaders and strengthen its high-performing culture.
What we did
I facilitated a series of senior leadership sessions, helping the group get beneath the presenting issues, ask some honest questions and turn its thinking into greater clarity and a practical plan.
Gemma Bowman-Yard, Assoc CIPD, People Director, NAHL plc
“Andy gets it. There is no sales pitch, no BS, just an experienced and passionate guy who knows his stuff and asks the right questions to get to the right outcome. Within just a few hours, there is clarity and a plan. He says what you need to hear, even if it might not be what you want to hear, and this has been a catalyst for welcomed change.”
Creating a clearer direction together
The challenge
Safer Business Network was a small Community Interest Company experiencing rapid growth. Its leaders wanted greater clarity about what sat at the heart of the organisation and where it was heading.
What we did
I facilitated a Business Foundations Workshop with the Senior Management Team, followed by a Values Discovery Workshop involving the whole organisation. This gave everyone an opportunity to contribute to the thinking and build a shared understanding of what mattered.
“Andy really pushed us to think about what lies at the heart of our business and why we do what we do. All of our team members found the sessions enjoyable and rewarding and we now have a much clearer direction of travel as a company.”
Rita King, Co-CEO, Safer Business Network
Job titles and organisations reflect the positions held when the work took place.
What would you like to move forward?
Every organisation is different, so the work always starts with understanding what is happening, what you would like to change and what may be getting in the way.
